Formerly known as the “working poor” tax credit, your donation to a qualifying charity will aid temporary assistance (TANF) and low-income families, the chronically ill, and individuals with physical disabilities. The credit available is $800 for married couples and $400 for individual taxpayers.
Taxpayers may claim a credit for contributing up to $400 (married) or $200 (single) to a public or charter school in support of extracurricular activities or character education programs.
